Jeff Wortman of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan has been nominated as the candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party in the Saskatoon Silverspring-Sutherland Constituency for the provincial election to be held April 4, 2016.
Mr. Wortman is a heavy equipment operator who works in the construction industry. He has also professional training as a truck driver. Jeff was raised on the family farm and has lived in Saskatoon for nineteen years. Jeff was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Mr. Wortman is a supporter of community housing, and serves on the social committee of his Co-operative Housing Community.
Party Leader, Rick Swenson said “The PC Party is pleased to have Jeff join our team. He is honest, sincere, and understands what it means to work for a living. I believe he will work very hard to become the next MLA for Saskatoon Silverspring-Sutherland. If he wins, the people will be well represented.”
When asked why he is seeking the nomination, Mr. Wortman said, ”I know what it’s like trying to get decent health care on a limited budget. I want to bring the concerns of people like myself to the Legislature and fight for the underprivileged. I also believe that my knowledge of construction will prove valuable when it is time to discuss the conditions of the highways in our province.”
Jeff continued, “On a personal note, I used to weigh 360 pounds. By learning to eat healthier foods and exercise, I was able to lose 180 lbs. The PC Party proposal to use waste heat for the production of fruits and vegetables really appealed to me.”
In conclusion, Jeff said “I have always had a positive attitude, and feel that when I meet the people of Saskatoon Silverspring-Sutherland, they will know that I am sincere and have want to work for them and the people of Saskatchewan.”
