Tim Atchison of Lintlaw, Saskatchewan will be the PC Party of Saskatchewan candidate for the Kelvington – Wadena constituency for the Provincial election to be held April 4, 2016.
Tim’s nomination was confirmed at a meeting in the Seniors Centre in Lintlaw Monday evening. In addition to some local supporters of Tim, the meeting was attended by PC Party Leader, Rick Swenson and Canora-Pelly candidate Merv Malish.
Tim thanked people for coming out to support him in seeking the nomination. He addressed some of the issues he wants to address in his run for the Legislature. These included local issues like the Quill Lakes flooding, and revitalizing rural Saskatchewan. Mr. Atchison also talked about the needs of senior citizens. He also addressed provincial issues like the privatization of liquor stores and creating a tourism strategy. Tim closed by saying “I will fight for what we need locally and in our great province of Saskatchewan.”
Party leader Rick Swenson addressed the crowd. He thanked Tim for making the commitment to run for the Legislature. He told those present of where the PC Party has made some progress making the government accountable, but “we still have some work to do.” Mr. Swenson also discussed health care and the need for the regions and the ministry having more accountability.
At the end, Rick and Tim took questions from the audience, and then took time to shake hands and meet people individually.
