The PC Party of Saskatchewan is questioning the resignation timing for both Premier Wall and former Minister Bill Boyd.
“Premier Wall and Mr. Boyd say they are leaving politics to give the Sask Party an opportunity for renewal, a line that I find hard to believe” says PC Party Leader Rick Swenson.
Mr. Swenson went on to say “everyone should be asking themselves, why didn’t Premier Wall and Mr. Boyd experience this sudden epiphany before the April 2016 election. There is little doubt that their decisions have more to do with avoiding political and legal heat and not on any Sask Party renewal”.
Swenson adds, "On August 11th the Premier called a By-election in Saskatoon Fairview and just four days later, Mr. Boyd announces his resignation. In a matter of weeks, taxpayers will be on the hook for close to $400,000.00 to cover another by-election. If there are any other Sask Party MLA’s looking to leave, please do so now and at least save taxpayers some dollars by not having single by-elections every second month”.
In conclusion Mr. Swenson said “instead of renewal, it is time to replace this tired, corrupt government and the personal business agendas of the Sask Party.
