Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan reacts to Liberal Party Name Change to the Saskatchewan Progress Party
The media has reported that the Saskatchewan Liberals are changing their name to The Saskatchewan Progress Party.
Alan Evans, President of the Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan questions this latest attempt to hide under the PC Party name. Evans states “We will be seeking clarification from Elections Saskatchewan if the new Liberal name, which may end up confusing voters, is an acceptable change.”
Evans states that the PC party has already fought off three takeover attempts from right wing groups and now the Liberal Party wants to use 1/2 of its name.
He said “This is deja vu all over again as the Progressives and Conservative merged in 1942. The PC Party will remain a progressive conservative party. We will never become a regressive conservative party.
