Saskatoon, SK–Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan Leader Rose Buscholl is calling for the Premier Scott Moe Government and Saskatchewan Teachers Federation to get back to the negotiating table.
“This is getting beyond ridiculous,” stated Buscholl. “It is never alright to use the education of our children to score political points. Quit playing games and get it done!”
Contract negotiations between the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation and the province stalled again on Tuesday, and the union says more job action is set to begin on today. Both sides are blaming each other for the impasse. The STF is insinuating that the Moe government is trying to sidestep the bargaining process while the province retorted that “offers were on the table.”
“It is so unfortunate that our government is not taking this seriously and being so childish,” Buscholl asserts. “And who suffers? Our children, that’s who. Every day this goes on weakens our whole education system and fails the children. Enough!”
